Weight Loss & The Body Heals Itself

March 9th, 2012 | Posted by admin in Weight &The Body Heals Itself

“I remember learning about the body’s amazing ability to heal automatically when I was a small child. One day, I fell down and scraped my knee. Seeing blood on my knee was scary. I wasn’t sure what it meant or what would happen to me. However, soon I learned that no matter how often I fell down and scraped my knee, my body would somehow take care of itself. It would dependably send out white blood cells to kill the bacteria. My blood would clot, and my skin would form a scab. Then the scab would go away. No matter how many times I fell down, my body always healed itself like clockwork in an eloquent dance of health.”(Freedom From Food) Tell me about the times your body healed itself. And tell me times in your life when you remember eating and not gaining weight and your body took in the nourishment it needed from food and released the rest. Maybe when you were in Love, on a vacation, or you were a child.

“I am trusting my body’s natural elimination system to remove all excess weight and food that is not healthy for my body now!” Patricia Bisch

I remember all the times I was on vacation in Italy, and when I got back home, I always returned slimmer than before. It was “interesting”, because I definitely ate more while on vacation than I would usually eat at home. Back then, I wondered if I lost weight because I drank so much water. But when I drank a lot of water back home, it did NOT lead to weight loss. With today’s knowledge, I understand that my body simply released whatever it didn’t need when I was in Italy. I just LOVED being there – I felt carefree and joyful most of the time, which must have allowed my body to do what it was meant to do… to eliminate what it doesn’t need.

Back when I was a member of Weight watchers (over 15 years ago), my body did do something quite interesting… During the year-end holidays, I would eat all the celebratory traditional food and wouldn’t gain weight. It was something I just knew: christmas food didn’t make me gain weight. I really don’t know why, but I’m considering Sunny’s input that it was a time during which I felt really happy and relaxed.

Also…. After a lot of consideration, I realize now that every time I was single and wanted to start a new relationship or find some new romantic interest, it was 10 times easier and faster to lose the weight that I perceived as an obstacle to being attractive. It was like I place an order to my body: “Let’s get in shape and find ourselves a nice guy” – and my body would deliver my order.
Now that I’m married though, I don’t seem to have this motivation. By the way, I see attractiveness + sexuality play a key role in my weight issues, but I guess this is a topic for another blog…

In August of ’94, as I was sitting in my car at a stop light, I was hit from behind which resulted in a ‘whiplash’ . At that time I was training for my 2nd Chicago Marathon. The incident affected my back & neck and endorphins. The docs I saw at the time (for the insurance company) told me that running was aggressive athletic tendency for a woman my age. (in the 30′s — excuse me!) It took me a while to find the right doctor…..but long story short — I did run the marathon in ’95, ’96, 97 and ’98!
Also with eating — I participated in a “thintuition competition’ (thintuition.com) kind of like a biggest loser reality tv show on a local station. I actually did lose 7 lbs in 2 weeks — throughout that time I ate chips and pizza and burgers. I did not diet, or deprive (only thing — was I only ate if I was hungry — really hungry –and stopped eating the moment / the bite the hunger was satiated)….throughout the 6 months I did lose 30LBS…..eating all the foods I love.

I know that my body heals itself especially in a loving environment. In 2005, I was diagnosed by a endrochrinologist with hyperthyroidism. I was particularly distressed with random bouts of elevated heart rate . I chose to be treated by a knowledgeable nutritionist who supported natural healing of the body with a variety of supplements and homeopathic remedies. I also was treated with a vibrational healing “attunement” by the Emissaries of Divine Light. With the support of both, I felt fully supported and My body returned to its natural pattern. I returned to my thyroid specialist and he verified I had no signs of disease.
